Kuwait vs US media

Woke up to a beautiful sunrise this morning. Ate a clean fruit and yogurt breakfast. Did a private with an eager to learn student. Talked with some locals, did a sprint/core workout, finished with a nice dulce de yes imahomo frap from Starbucks. But you know what I didn’t do? I didn’t have to dodge bullets or avoid bombs falling from the sky. It’s amazing how the Middle East is portrayed in US media. Granted their are parts that are war zones, as even Kuwait was invaded by Iraq in 91. But can you imagine if foreign media only filmed Compton, inglewood and watts? Of course the world would think we were a country rife with violence and turmoil.just goes to show that the media is going to portray things the way they want to be seen, not how things really are. I’m proud of where I come from, but the fact that our government controls what we see is just terrible.
Anyway, I’m going for a camel ride with my kid and play looking Arab tour guide. After eating camel last night, I think it’s only fair that I try riding one. Pictures to follow. How about that sunrise though 🙂
